Vintage Wishon-Harrell Stoneware Table Lamp, 1970s

$225.00

Vintage hand-thrown stoneware lamp from the Wishon-Harrell studio, signed by the artists. A beautiful example of 1970s California studio pottery and in great shape for its age. Organic modern design in warm earth tones with a gorgeous drippy, layered glaze. As with many hand-thrown pieces, there’s a small firing pinhole near the shoulder and a fine hairline line on the body (pictured). Neither affects function or display.

Wishon-Harrell was the creative partnership of potters James Wishon and Jerry Harrell. The pair got their start at Willett Studios in Southern California before opening their own studio in 1971, and later moved to Indiana. Wishon is generally credited with throwing the forms on the wheel, while Harrell brought them to life with glaze and decoration. Their pieces are increasingly sought after by collectors today.

The lamp includes a large linen shade in fair condition and has been rewired with a new socket and three-way switch, so it’s ready to illuminate your home.

Ceramic base: 13" H x 12" W

23" H to the top of the harp
