Yngve Ekström stated "To have designed one good chair might not be a bad life's work," and he definitely accomplished it with the Lamino lounge chair. Before IKEA, he came up with the idea to create the chair with a knockdown construction in order to get it shipped from Sweden to the USA.
Made of beautiful bent wood in a walnut finish with armrests that flow seamlessly into the legs. The ergonomic shape of the frame combined with original green wool fabric make it feel organic and warm. This appears to be from the late 1950s, with an original hand-etched serial number, and is in great shape considering its age.
The fabric has no stains and only three small wear holes as pictured. The bentwood frame has no cracks. The upper rear back support was removed and repaired at some point in its life and is solid. It's sturdy, comfortable, and ready to live on for many more decades.
