I love the curves on this Danish modern teak queen platform bed by Jesper International from the 1970s. The headboard’s side panels sweep right down into built-in nightstands, and each top flows into the side rail. Both nightstands have a dovetailed beech drawer and an open cubby below for books, baskets, or an excellent hiding spot for a cat. The teak grain on the headboard is gorgeous, and there’s a 5" shelf on top which gives space for displaying trinkets or for that extra glass of water we all need to be drinking.
It’s fully refurbished and I gave the whole piece fresh coats of lacquer, touched up scratches, and lubricated the drawers so they glide smoothly. Some minor scratches remain, as expected with age and use. The mattress sits 4.5" down into the frame for a nice low look. Includes handwritten assembly instructions; you’ll just need a flathead screwdriver and a 10mm open-ended wrench to secure everything at the end.
